Drove for owner Dave Carroll from 1999-2001. Made two NASCAR Busch Series starts in 1998, at Atlanta and North Carolina Motor Speedway, his career first. Finished fifth in first ARCA race at Pocono in 1998, scored five top-five finishes in first six ARCA starts. Competed in the NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division, Southeast Series in 1997-'98. Earned a Top 20 points finish in 1997 after recording three top- 10 finishes in 14 starts. Began racing at age 15 in Mini-Modified Division at Highland Rim Speedway in Tennessee.

NOTEWORTHY Hamilton has a Yorkie named CoCo, who is a fixture in driver motorcoach lots and victory lane ceremonies. He and his father, Bobby Sr., were featured in a 2001 TV commercial for Dr Pepper, racing tractor mowers. Daughter Haley was born on Oct. 12 – PPI team owner Cal Wells’ birthday. At the age of 15, Hamilton was given a 1971 Pinto in his driveway by his father. A year later Hamilton won the mini-modified division title at Highland Rim Speedway near Ridgetop, Tenn.
