Best finish was seventh at Martinsville in October. Qualified third on two occasions – California Speedway and Richmond – on back-to-back weekends in May. 2003 Finished 34th in series points. Began season on a high note winning Daytona 500 pole, driving No. 30 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet. Scored his lone top 10 of the season (7th) at Texas. Released from RCR following Richmond event in May. Drove No. 1 Dale Earnhardt, Inc. Chevrolet in 11 races. Finished 19th in Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte in first start for DEI. Set a record for largest point margin (616) and most top-five finishes (25) in the NASCAR Busch Series. 1999 NASCAR Busch Series runner-up to Dale Earnhardt Jr. In 1996, finished third in NASCAR Busch Series points behind champion Randy LaJoie and runner-up David Green. In 1995, joined NASCAR Busch Series team owned by Dale and Teresa Earnhardt. First racing was in go-karts. NOTEWORTHY His 2000 championship season in the NASCAR Busch Series featured a series record 616-point margin over runnerup and teammate Jason Keller. Green and brother David – the 1994 NASCAR Busch Series champion – were the first siblings to both win a major auto racing championship. With his brothers, Mark and David, began a charity organization in 2002 called the Green Foundation.
